Why do we cancel trips or classes?
The core of our business, since day one, has been the safety of our customers. This is why we cancel trips or classes. We want our customers to have a great time with us and/or to learn in a safe, controlled environment.
Factors we always take into consideration include:
- the weather for that day. Will there be high winds or severe weather in the immediate area? Take a class with us and learn about the 4 W’s you should consider before any outing on the water.
- the experience level of our customers. Prime example: May 5th and 6th’s Hambrick Bat cave trips were cancelled due to high winds, cold weather and rain. I had a group of first time paddlers going out Saturday night. There was NO WAY I was going to subject them to those conditions their first time on the water. I refunded their money and they commended me for putting their safety first. Win/win scenario
My responsibility is and always will be ensuring you have a fun, memorable time on the water with us. Unlike other local outfitters, that is ultimately more vital than monies made and always will be. Our 2 goals:
1- Be Safe
2- Have fun
In that exact order.
Until we post again, enjoy the water, wear your lifejacket and we will see you on the water!
